VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA – Gerald S. Divaris, Chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), announced that DRE represented W.W. Owens & Sons Moving and Storage, Inc. in the sale of 44.34 acres in Elizabeth City, NC to Vulcan Lands, Inc (NYSE: VMC).
David Bickford of DRE’s Virginia Beach office brokered the deal on behalf of the seller. Bickford has been essential to moving property in North Eastern North Carolina and the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, where he primarily represents land and shopping center owners.
The property at 174 Knobbs Creek Drive has been tenanted by Vulcan for over 30 years, and has direct rail service to their quarry in West Virginia. Vulcan is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates – primarily crushed stone, sand and gravel. They employ over 7,000 people in 19 states. Most of the infrastructure of the US is paved with Vulcan rock.
